Key Issues of Water Resource Accounting Discussed at Roundtable in Astana
On September 12, 2025, the Kazakhstan Water Association (KWA) hosted a roundtable titled “Current Issues in Water Supply Metering: Challenges, Solutions, and Prospects,” reports the KWA press service. The meeting gathered representatives of leading water utilities, as well as manufacturers and suppliers of metering devices.
The session focused on improving water consumption metering and enhancing transparency in Kazakhstan’s water supply system. Discussions covered the current state of metering, regulatory frameworks, deployment of modern equipment, maintenance practices, and cooperation between utilities and government agencies.
Participants, including KWA and Astana Su Arnasy, emphasized the need for legislative updates, adoption of new technologies, and stronger interagency coordination. The event concluded with a set of recommendations aimed at improving metering efficiency and ensuring sustainable water supply.
